Going Crazy

Posted by Amanda on August 29th, 2009

I might actually be going crazy.  In the course of one week I lost a diaper bag, wallet, and a stroller.  Not good.  The diaper bag and wallet were together, but the stroller was a totally separate occasion.  Both times I drove the van away and forgot to put the things in the car.  How could that happen?  With how many times I get everyone and everything in and out of that van, I probably have a 98% rate of not leaving things.  But that doesn’t really make me feel better.  At least it wasn’t the double stroller.

On another note.  I really appreciate people who make nice comments to me when I am out and about.  When they see my three little ones they say, “wow you sure are busy!”  Or ask how old they are, with a smile (not a shocked look).  Anyway, I can’t remember exactly what people say, but it really makes me feel good.  I expect people to be annoyed with how much noise we are making, or how much time it takes to load up in the van, or trying to keep everyone from crying at the grocery check out.  One old lady said I was brave to be shopping with all three children.  Yes, I do feel brave.  And stupid, because I have lost a diaper bag, wallet, and stroller.

New Teeth

Posted by Amanda on August 11th, 2009

Last week Daniel worked on cutting his two front teeth.  Here is his happy grin to show off the progress. Later we noticed another one on top and another one on the bottom.  No wonder we lost so much sleep over it.

Isn’t he such a beautiful boy?  Baby girls have lots of cute clothes and hair things and such.  But Daniel is just so cute all by himself!  I love the smiles.  And he turned 7 months yesterday.

Heat Wave

Posted by Amanda on August 11th, 2009

Two or three weeks ago I was complaining about it not really being summer here.  Then we had a week of record breaking heat.  Like 103 degrees in Seattle.  And we have no AC.  And we live in a 3 story townhouse.  Right now it is raining, with rain forecast the whole week.  Temps in the 60′s.  I think summer is over.  Anyway, we did discover a fountain park which was fun on the hot days.

We’re Furnished

Posted by Amanda on August 6th, 2009

I got home from the zoo on Tuesday (no I didn’t even take the camera because we only have Darryl’s huge expensive camera and I am usually afraid to use it, especially on an outing with kids) to find out our furniture arrived at the warehouse two weeks early.  So we got it yesterday and I took a couple pictures today to show off.  I’m so used to sitting on the kitchen chairs, I keep forgetting we have comfy chairs!

Kathryn is also modeling her curly hair from wearing rollers at night.  And showing a book that the girls love, but we’ve never actually read because it is pretty long.  I think they just that its about a princess and a unicorn.

And then, all three children smiling in the same picture!  Its a miracle!

We also got a loveseat, which is currently in our bedroom since it doesn’t really fit in the living room area.  But we bought it with the hope that someday we will have a house with either a bigger family/living room, or with both a family room and living room.

Recent Pictures

I don’t post as many pictures as I probably should.  I may be breaking a family rule, so here are a few pictures to catch up.  All of these were taken within the last week, most of them today.

We got little princess beds for Kathryn and Amelia.  We don’t have bedding yet, but they each have a few blankets they like, so it works for now.  Here they are modeling their beds.

Today before going shopping and to the wading pool, we painted our toe nails.  Or as Amelia says, tony nails.

Since Darryl takes 99% of the pictures, he is rarely in one.  So here he is just so you can all remember how handsome he looks.  Last Sunday evening we drove to the Seattle temple to walk around.

I think Amelia’s hair is a riot after she has had braids.

And my favorite, taken just this evening.  Daniel cannot live on milk alone.  Here he is feasting on the words of Christ - New Testament scripture stories.  He just loves paper, and anything he can reach goes into his mouth.  Yes, he did rip two pages out of the book.  Amelia ripped a page out of my bible at his age, during our Christmas Eve program.  I think that means they love the scriptures.
