Kathryn was invited to a birthday party at the Seattle Children’s Museum last August. We decided to take the whole family and ended up buying a membership. Partly because getting in once as a family was almost half the cost of the membership! After that, though, I was nervous to take all three kids by myself so we didn’t go for awhile. That seems silly now! I take three kids everywhere! Anyway, I decided to make a goal to go at least once a month, and we have had so much fun. With Amelia not taking naps, we can bring lunch and stay into the afternoon when it is less crowded. Daniel falls asleep in the stroller.
So last week we went, for January. I loved watching each one have so much fun in different areas. Daniel really enjoyed it, being really mobile now and excited about everything.
Amelia doing the obstacle course. In the afternoon it wasn’t crowded, so she could stay in as long as she wanted. Here she is throwing herself over the “obstacle”. Also going down a slide in another area.
Daniel’s favorite part was playing in the water. He got soaking wet.
Kathryn loved the art room, of course.

What a great place! I hear you on the cost of memberships. Good move on your part buying the membership.
I ended up buying an MFA membership for the same reasons. In merely 2.5 visits it will start to pay for itself. There’s enough at the museum for multiple visits, so 1+ 1=2 and I now have a membership to the MFA.
