Preschool

Posted by Amanda on October 27th, 2010

Most of you are probably half way done with the school year, but around here school doesn’t start until after Labor Day.  And the girls’ preschools didn’t start until late September/early October.  So I’m not as late as it seems, right?

Kathryn and Amelia are both in preschool this year, different ones.  I wanted them to have something separate mostly so Amelia would not have to do every activity with Kathryn, and wouldn’t have to hear Kathryn say how hers is the best.

So Kathryn goes to a preschool at a highschool not too far away (but not too close either).  They have a child development class where they put on a preschool for free.  Here she is on the first day:

Amelia goes to another great place,  just once a week.  A woman in our ward runs a daycare that includes preschool in the morning.  It is at her own home and its nice and close to us.   It is just perfect for Amelia – the kids are mostly around her age, there are lots of projects, and playing outside.  She really loves it.  Here is her first day:

Pumpkin Farm

Posted by Amanda on October 27th, 2010

We went with Amelia’s preschool to the pumpkin farm.  It was the perfect place for little kids.  Lots of animals to look at.  Daniel was in heaven and never wanted to move on to the next animal.

Even some goats to pet at the end.

Of course everyone got to pick a pumpkin.  Kathryn and Amelia went searching a little.  Daniel picked up the first pumpkin he found.  Isn’t he darling?  He actually later exchanged this one for a slightly bigger pumpkin.

The whole group.  It was sunny and my girls couldn’t really handle sun in their eyes, so they are the ones with hands up to their eyes.

Mythbusters

Posted by Amanda on October 9th, 2010

Darryl and I have busted a myth!  You know the one about a pregnant woman being much sicker with a girl?  Busted.  I was sick as a dog (much more so than with Daniel, and even more than with Amelia) and we’re having a boy.  Everything will be even steven around here.  And I do love everything nice and even.

To celebrate we made frosted graham crackers with blue frosting.
