Amelia turned 4 recently.  This is the third year in a row she wanted some sort of bear cake.  So we did bears on an island in the ocean.  I let Amelia pick what to put on the cake and where.  I also made just half a cake recipe so we weren’t eating cake for a whole week.

She had preschool on her birthday, and afterwards we surprised her with this birthday balloon.  They go crazy over these balloons every time we see them in the dollar store or grocery store.  Next time I’ll have to buy one for each of the kids, as it caused some contention.  Funny, though, that neither Kathryn nor Daniel asked for one when we were buying it for Amelia.  I like to think their hearts were in the right place.

We all went to Toys R Us and bought Amelia a bike.  The next day we enjoyed riding bikes in the church parking lot.

Michael is a very well loved baby.

Kathryn likes to hold him and take care of him.

Amelia is probably the most enamored with Michael, but sometimes her love is kind of smothering.  She calls him “the babe”.

I think this picture of Daniel and Michael is so cute – he wanted to show Michael these books.  Daniel is very sweet with Michael.

Michael was blessed at church this past Sunday.  We were so happy my Aunt Kathy and her family came from Olympia.  Here are a few pictures from the day.

This is my cousin Claire.  I think she is 11?  Kathryn and Amelia love playing with such a big girl.

But their favorite might be my cousin Mike.  He is just about 16, and plays with them like a fun uncle.  Amelia fluctuates between being scared of him and liking him.

We didn’t do a very good job of getting a picture of me with baby Michael, or of our whole family.  But it was a wonderful and special day!икони

Its time for some more pictures of Michael.

Here is the classic Melanchuk sleeping pose.  All of our kids have loved sleeping this way.  Amelia was even seen in this pose during an ultrasound.  And I know where it comes from.  My favorite way to sleep is on my back with my arms up by my head.

Can you believe it?  He has already grown out of this outfit.  Nooooooo!!
